Item description: * See scan - perfect condition. This is the George / Georgi Dimitrov Bulgarian Communist 1962 - 1964 issue of the Dimitrov Laureate / Laureatte solid gold medal for Arts and Science - 1st Class. The medal was established in end of May 1949. This issues has the year printed in relief at back. The medal is solid 14 karat gold and weighs about 25 grams of gold also marked at top of the rim near the hook. Extremely scarce and rare Bulgarian award decoration. The medal was awarded to people of art and science and only about 20 persons have received this 1962-64 issue and no information BUT even less number of people out of those 20 have received the heavier type - probably 4 or 5 persons. Furthermore, during that time not only a sigle person received the piece, but it was also possible that a group of people receives only one piece. Truly scarce collector item. So far I know only of one more such piece known to exist in a collection.
