Item description: * Spectacular Art Nouveau era floral design and fashionable of that period yellow gold brooch pendant comprising an important large Australian blue green opal in a freeform shape. The opal centerpiece measures 38mm x 35mm and has a total estimated weight of about 52 carats. This natural opal gemstone has an intense blue and green opalescence with great gray base color. The opal is set within a hand carved yellow gold frame in the form of leafs or wreaths set throughout into platinum petals paved with 18 brilliant cut diamonds of superb quality and color. Total estimated diamond weight is about 1.0 – 1.2 carats. This fantastic Art Nouveau jewel is designed both as a large necklace pendant, as well as brooch. Gross weight of the piece is nearly 24 grams and although no marks are present, it is believed to be of French make and origin.

Absolutely scarce antique jewelry / jewellery collector piece crafted by an European jeweler and master goldsmith and one of the rare Art Nouveau era diamonds and opals brooches, pendants and jewels.
